Doin' It

You are allowing your creativity to be squished by yourself my dear sister. So, I'm just going to post rambling posts until you get over it and start posting.

For the world at large, I pursuaded my dear sister (after she mentioned it was cool that I had a blog and that she could not think of a topic to have her own blog (which I found out later she does in fact have her own blog about books: here)) to start this cooperative blog for fun! And she's whimping out on me!

Rambling randomness:

1. I cannot believe you already have your Christmas tree, but am very glad you do since Christmas is at your house.
2. I need to go get our Christmas tree and Jamie said he's not going to be offended if I just come home with one.
3. I had lots of fun in West Texas with you. And here's a fun photo of you...cause it's fun...and who doesn't love photos?! Oh, it was fun to have to boys with us too...I guess ;) j/k - they were fun!
4. That camera sure does take good photos when the battery is charged!
5. I have been looking for jobs that pay decently in West Texas since we got back. Sad, huh? Erica said I wasn't allowed to move to Michigan...do you think she'd be okay with West Texas??? :)
6. You have been pinning it up lately - you could even do a post about pinterest and pull some of the cool stuff you've been pinning - lots of people do that for their blogs. Promise.
7. Did you check out Claire's GF foodie blog? You should make me something yummy from her blog and then blog about it, so take pictures. Oh and have you started following this foodie blog? Love it! Speaking of food - someone I follow on pinterest just posted that recipe that Connie made for Thanksgiving...just thought that was interesting.
8. Last night I had a dream that I was really really rich and could buy lots of different kinds of perfume. Weird huh?
9. I heart Angry Birds.
10. I started a pair of socks for Kat. I have not however started my Christmas craftiness - I should totally start on that. I still have to finish Noah's surprise gift - they are all coming out different sizes and that really really bothers me. He may get another set of perfectly sized ones later. I really wish I could knit at work. Or knit to work.
11. I did some intense cleaning of the kitchen this past weekend and I cannot believe how fantastic it is to be in there now - clean and organized really does make me happy.
12. I'm going bald - swear to god - the bottom half of my head no longer has much hair on it and I've been  looking at other people's ponytails...longingly...because everyone's is thicker than mine now and it makes me sad and stressed out. Nevermind the stress adds to the baldness... It's a never ending cycle.
13. I forgot how awesome Pandora is - but what's up with the damn commericials? I am not paying for Pandora - it defeats the awesomeness (Hello!) of free music. They still do a good job - I wish our gym had free wifi.
14. I am rather sore from my workout yesterday - you should totally start lifting weights again - it's GREAT!
15. I'm wearing the sweater I bought when we were at Sam's together and it's rather warm. I'm diggin' it.

Lady-abs

Man-abs

16. I watched 300 the other day and I totally want man-abs...Jamie got a little weirded out when I told him that - he is limiting me to lady-abs and said it would be gross if I had man-abs. What do you think (I've provided examples)?

17. I'm running out of ramblings... for the moment, of course. I'm going to continue this saga until you believe this blog is not a printed book about to be submitted to a publisher...or a chore... or work... it's fun... and you must participate to enjoy the funness... and have fun... cause it's fun... damnit.
(18. You could post a response with a little game - following Emily's train of thought - read the numbered items and try to associate the things that made me think of the next numbered topic. There is an order..I promise.)

So, Happy Rambling Tuesday!

Going Home

Dear Heather,

I know you're all Emily-ied out after spending five days together in Michigan, but I checked the trophy at the house and it is indeed the infamous Detriot Times bowling trophy. I sent this photo to Uncle Mick.

You don't know pressure until you're bowling for the down payment on a house.

God bless Fran for marrying Gramps.
I really got perspective on this trip about just how resilient our family is. How motivating that our grandparents paid for a house with winnings from a bowling tournament, that our mom grew up being told everyone had a purpose no matter how big or small, and that the family mentality that 'we aren't poor if there's food in the house' is carried across generations (everybody always has very full pantries).
We are a dang good legacy if you ask me.
I'm comforted that our dedication to be good, hardworking people is carried throughout all the Callahan families. It felt more like going home than previous trips and it's very strange to have two 'homes'. I actually feel homesick today. It was also really good to share all of those times with you - we did not take a picture of just us either dang it - even if we did start to get on each other's nerves.
I hope your day back at work goes well and your classes aren't completely crazy.

Love you,
Em
